Joy was our theme this weekend for the third week of Advent, and we focused on finding the joy that comes from living in God's presence. Rod preached, and he did a fantastic job of communicating that "joy to the world" hinges upon the fact that "the Lord has come" - the joy comes from the Lord's presence. Psalm 16:11 says, "In Your presence is fullness of joy..." The message was well-received, as people at The Journey realized their need (our need) to spend more time in prayer and Bible study, seeking God's presence in their lives. To top it off, we had two men, Joe and Dana receive Christ into their lives during the invitation. Good stuff.
Although there was some confusion at different junctures yesterday, the day was good. We had 133, and I am very excited to see people consistently applying the Word to their lives. You are to be commended for not just being hearers of the Word, but this church has a bunch of doers. Thank you, Lord.

I thank God for His word. You rarely hear an emphasis on worship as being the primary way to pursue the Lord.Yesterday the Lord seemed to clarify things for us by prioritizing the worship of Him in "preparation" of bible reading and prayer. He even began to define worship as more than singing songs. It's exciting to have the Lord begin removing the scales from our eyes. The enemy will always encourage a mental approach to God. That is no threat to him. He knows little will be accomplished and God's people will be busy, busy, busy.I'm thankful for the faithfulness of the Lord to continue to shed more light on HIS Word. The more the Journey walks in His word the more light He will give. The joy of the Lord is our strength and we now know where to get that joy ! Thankyou Lord!
We are no better than Peter and it took a revelation from God for him to recognize Jesus for who He really was.It will be no less for us. That is why it is so exciting to me that the Lord brings a living word like He did yesterday that begins to deliver HIS sheep from some carnal approach to Him." Teach us how to worship you Lord in spirit and in truth.May your Word have free course to separate soul from spirit so that we may present offerings that are exceptable to You".
